Since the launch of the fourth campaign, fresh DM the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a diverse cast of heroes, and a gripping narrative featuring divine entities, fiends, and sinister influences expanding in power within Dol-Makjar.
Warning: Revealing details for the latest installment of Campaign 4 follow below.
The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
The third episode concluded with a huge suspense moment and introduced the premier party of adventurers who will separate from the main group to embark on their own adventure, separate from the other two tables.
This warrior group features the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis), the nimble rogue (Laura), Tyranny (the cast member), the cleric (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
With an extensive roster, it was clear from the beginning that keeping everyone at one table would be unfeasible.
This explains, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, connecting the individual narratives before dividing into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Planners, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
As described by the DM, the Soldiers table is for participants who prefer a typically action-packed battle-oriented narrative style where non-violent answers are few and far between.
Upon first impression, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander might look unsuited, but the actions of the latest installment show why these particular heroes are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the party understands precisely where to head next after a brutal initial meeting with the enemy group.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose demise started the story’s plot—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, entering the secret base, striking the character, and swiping all the magical artifacts to sell off.
Casimir then cleared his obligations and escaped to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each adventurer has a personal reason to depart the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the companion and closest confidant, wants revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure knows Timmony and advises that it is a hostile environment.
- The warrior and Wicander, having resisted his family’s wishes to execute Teor and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- However, their position as key figures in the influential clan could help the party enter areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, The grateful character vowed a eternal obligation to The savior for his rescue and will now accompany him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are hunted by the authorities that control the setting for a multiple motives, making staying in the city dangerous:
- The agile adventurer and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and Wicander turned against House Halovar and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
- Teor is targeted for elimination by the family.
This results in them little choice but to journey toward the remote area in quest for the traitor.
